Spring Has Arrived And So Has Our Latest Newsletter!
So I want to start off on a good note and celebrate the fact that it’s the 1st day of spring so... HAPPY SPRING (p.s. we’re hosting a fun giveaway at the bottom of the newsletter)! I don’t know about you guys, but this is such a refreshing time of year! When the days are longer, the birds are chirping, flowers begin to bud and of course, the arrival of warmer weather. With the forecast showing me warmer days ahead, I know not to get my hopes up too much because we all know how our Canadian springs usually go...Weather warms up, snow blizzard, weather warms up again, another blizzard, then spring actually arrives in May lol... Either way, I’ll enjoy this warm up while it lasts with the kids.
With the Covid-19 pandemic becoming the theme of life at the moment and it totally taking over March break, I’m curious to know what everyone is doing?
I feel really guilty because as a parent, I use many tactics to get my kids to comply with me lol... That being said, a couple of weeks ago I had to bribe my kids to keep their behaviour top notch with tickets to Disney On Ice. Well, guess what? It’s probably CANCELLED! Thanks Covid-19, now my kids won't trust my bribes anymore (don’t judge me, we ALL do it!) And for those of you who don't have kids, take notes, it’s the only way to get by as a Mother.... Well, that and a nice glass of vino (or whatever your drink of choice is).
Speaking of wine, I’m surprised I haven't polished off the bottle on my kitchen counter... In addition to having the kids at home, this move is still continuing on which means more challenges! Who told me to move homes and salons at once?
It's funny what they say in life, you’ll never get more than you can handle but I’m seriously starting to wonder how much more I can take. It amazes me when we’re put into situations that seem impossible yet somehow we get through it.
Personally for me, I think the hardest part is trying to stay balanced with life at home such as packing up my current house, getting the new house ready and picking out decorative elements for the new salon. There's so much to do, plan and pick out in such little time! At times like this, I would usually have the salon and my clients to help lift me up and motivate me to keep going but as you might have read on Instagram, we are closing temporarily due to the seriousness of the virus spreading.
Here’s a quick peak at some of the work being done to the new salon…
As much as I love going into work everyday, your safety means the world to me and so we decided to close our doors until it’s safe again. For those that have appointments during this time, I’ll be reaching out (if I haven’t already) to rebook at a later date. For news and updates on when we’ll open our doors again, subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Instagram.
As for the renovations for the new salon, I do want to give a big thank you for all the feedback you’ve been giving us for the new salon. I’m excited for you guys to see some of the elements of what you chose when you walk through the new doors so thank you, thank you, thank you!
…And now for the exciting part!
